Tips to avoid damp

A new season means the heating will be coming back on. Whilst this can make a house cosy and warm, it also comes with the risk of an increase of condensation and damp – the worst nightmare for a house, and completely avoidable if you follow a few simple rules.
We’ve written to all our tenants to give them advice on how to keep their homes fresh and dry, but whilst we were compiling the list we came across 3 tips you may not have thought of so thought we would share.
1) Make sure washing machines and in particular, tumble dryers are properly vented
2) Cover your pans when cooking (it also helps food cook faster!)
3) Keep furniture at least 50mm away from walls to allow the air to circulate
